GEORGE ELLIOT - Be Realistic
George Elliott of Canada published a collection of short fiction in 1962, The Kissing Man. He collaborated with photographer John Reeves on Gods Big Acre: Life in 401 Country in 1986. This story, Be Realistic, will appear early this fall in a collection, The Bittersweet Man, to be published by Red Kite Press.

STEVEN HEIGHTON - Eight Poems

Steven Heighton of Canada has published poetry Stalins Carnival and Foreign Ghosts and a collection of short stories, Flight Paths Of The Emperor. A new book of poems, The Ecstacy of Skeptics, will appear this November with Anansi.

Sara OLeary of Canada has had stories published in several journals, such as Quarry, Prism and Grain.

Phyllis Gotlieb of Canada is the author of several collections of verse, including, Within The Zodiac, Ordinary Moving, The Kingdom Of Cats, and Heart of Red Iron.
KAREN CONNELLEY - Letter to My Fathers Country
Karen Connelly of Canada is the youngest winner of Canadas prestigious Governor Generals Award for her 1993 non-fiction book Touch The Dragon: A Thai Journal (Turnstone Press), which will soon appear in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the United States, and Australia. She is the author of two collections of poetry, The Small Words In My Body and This Brighter Prison. Currently living in Greece, shes working on another volume of poetry and a new book of essays and stories about gypsies and travelers.

Rakel Liehu of Finland has published two novels and nine collections of poetry.

Jim Allen of Canada has published his photographs in all the major Canadian magazines. He has had four one-man shows of his work. He plays jazz piano.

Bill Gaston of Canada has published Tall Lives, North Of Jesus Beans, The Cameraman. Another novel, The Bella Combe will appear in the spring.
BRIAN BRETT - Buddhism Will Not Save Your Life, Roberto Baggio
Brian Brett of Canada is the author of several books of prose and poetry, including: Fossil Ground At Phantom Creek; Smoke Without Exit; Evolution In Every Direction; The Fungus Garden; Tanganyika; Poems, New and Selected and Allegories Of Love And Disaster.
CLAIRE DÉ - Slices of Mealtime
Claire Dé of Canada lives in Montréal. She is a playright and the author of four short story collections (the first with her twin sister Anne Dandurand), one theatre book with four one act plays, and a novel. Her colletion of stories, Le Désir, recently received the Prix Stendhal in France.
