Ismail Kadare of Albania is that countrys best known poet and novelist. His works have been translated into twenty languages. Among his novels are The Pyramid, The Three-Arched Bridge, The Concert, The Palace of Dreams and The File on H.
RICHAR TELEKY - The Committee of Adjustment
Richard Teleky of Canada has published stories in many literary magazines, including Antioch Review, Descant and Tamarack Review. He has published Goodnight Sweetheart and Other Stories, Hungarian Rhapsodies: Essays on Ethnicity, Identity and Culture, and a novel, The Paris Year of Rosie Kamin.
CATHERINE OWEN - Eight Poems
Catherine Owen of Canada is a poet whose work has appeared in many national literary journals. Her collections are And, the Silence Stones, Wearing The Yellow Jacket and Her. Her book, Somatic, poems rooted in the work of Egon Schiele, appear with Exile Editions.
DAWN KACKLEY - Three Stories
Dawn Kackley of Canada is the author of a collection of short fictions in the Darkhorse Series, NUMBER SIX, Even This Is Love.
PATRIZIA CAVALLI - Eight Poems
Patrizia Cavalli of Italy is outstanding among Italian contemporary poets. Her collections include: Le mie poesie non cambieranno (My Poems Wot Change the World), Il cielo (The Sky), and Poesie 1974-1992 (Poems 1974-1992).
NANDA LANFRANCO - Arcani
Nanda Lanfranco of Italy is a photographer who lives and works in Genoa, an artist whose photographs are in all of Italys major museum collections. She has a singular vision and position in that country. As a professional, she takes portraits of artists for Giornale DellArte; and this allows her to explore the esoteric in her Arcani series, based on the Tarot cards. Her work has been collected in a mjor volume, Mise en Abyme, and has been on display at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Toronto.
STEPHEN ZEIFMAN - The Family Man
Stephen Zeifman of Canada has published fiction in several journals, including Prism International. His first novel, The Family Man, will appear this fall.
H.J. STECKER - Two Poems
H.J. Stecker of Canada is a poet publishing for the first time.
RÉJEAN DUCHARME - The Daughter of Christopher Columbus
Réjean Ducharme of Canada is one of the most influential writers of the current Québec generation. He is the best-known unknown author in that country, seldom appearing in public, never allowing his photograph to be taken, and letting almost none of his work be translated. His published novels include LAvalée des Avalés, Le Nez qui Voque, LOcéantume and Enfantômes. Ha!-Ha!, a play, performed successfully in Québec and given the Governor Generals Award in 1982, was published by Exile Editions.
