YVES THERIAULT – Missus Anna
Yves Theriault of Canada was an Acadian of partly Montagnais Indian Ancientry. He died in 1983. He was the most prolific of Quebec’s writers and is best known for Agaguk, and several other novels and collections of stories: La Femme Anna et autres contes, Valère et le grand canot, Ashini, N’Tsuk, and Le Vendeur d’étoiles et autres contes.
ANDREI VOZNESENSKY – The Ditch
Andrei Voznesensky of the Soviet Union is one of the outstanding Russian poets of his generation. A major selection of his work in translation, The Arrow In The Wall, was published.
DIANE KEATING – The Crying Out
Diane Keating of Canada has published volumes of poetry including: In Dark Places, No Birds or Flowers and The Optic Heart.
GWENDOLYN MACEWEN – The Birds
Gwendolyn MacEwen of Canada died in the fall of 1987. Her works include: Selah, The Drunken Clock, the Rising Fire, A Breakfast for Barbarians, The Shadow-Maker, The Armies of the Moon, Magic Animals, the fire-Eaters, The T.W. Lawrence Poems, Earthlight, and Afterworlds, which won the Governor General’s Award for poetry in 1987.
ATTILIO BERTOLUCCI – Eight Poems
Attilio Bertolucci of Italy, born in 1911, is the author of Sirio, Fuochi in novembre, La capanna indiana, Viaggio d’inverno and La camera da letto. Charles Tomlinson, the translator, is one of England’s most important poets.
MARILYN BOWERING – George Sand’s Letter
Marilyn Bowering of Canada has published several volumes of poetry, including: One Who Became Lost, the Killing Room, Sleeping With Lambs, giving Back Diamonds and Anyone Can See I Love You.
BARRY CALLAGHAN – Promise Of Rain
