Exile: The Literary Quarterly is a journal with over 1000 contributions found in its pages since 1972, and this year we celebrate 30 Volumes and the release of our 120th issue! In those decades, Exile has become recognized, and respected, as a forum which always presents an impressive selection of new and established authors and artists. We draw our material (literature, poetry, drama, work in translation, and the fine arts) from French and English Canada, as well as from the U.S., Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. And, because Exile’s history of publishing is so uniquely appreciated, it now acts like an antenna, locating and attracting many diverse voices, searching out and encouraging the most distinctive new writing at home and abroad.

Introduction - We continue to update and add information, prepare for the coming PDF/downloadable version of the journal, and we will, late 2006/early 2007, offer audio/video links of authors reading at our book launches and other events. But for now, this site provides access to an indexing of the Volumes printed to date. These are grouped into five sections, and from those you can connect to a particular Issue and that issue’s Contributors List, with volumes 25 - 29 having author/artist links allowing you to view a selection of their work. By just clicking as you go, you can see who published and when, read selected contributions, view some of the art that has appeared, and discover for yourself the many talents that find their home in Exile.

Note: Contributor and Biographical information for Volumes 29, 28, 27, 26, 25 can be found in the CURRENT list; the RECENT list is for Volumes 24, 23, 22, 21, 20; the BACK/A list is for Volumes 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and BACK/B is for Volumes 14, 13, 12, 11, 10; Volumes 9 through 1 are part of the INDEXED list, which catalogues Volumes 28 back to Volume 1.
